Today is my birthday. In addition to eating a lot of delicious, healthy-ish cakes and spending time with my loved ones, I have, of course been doing some thinking.

When I woke up this morning, I checked my #truthbombfrom Danielle LaPorte and it read like this:

“Use your dissatisfaction to start a personal revolution.”

I love that this is my birthday truth bomb. 3 years ago today, on my 30th birthday, I sat down and wrote a list of things I’d like in my life by the time I turned 40. When I looked around, I realized that I had a lot of work to do. I did not feel sad. The journey looked long and hard, and it still does, but being in the trenches of a difficult journey to your Self is way funner than waking up feeling bored, under-inspired….and safe.

Personal revolutions are magical. Scary. Massive. Even nauseating. But the faith you gain in yourself from the simple act of trusting yourself and going for it makes the whole thing worthwhile.

What’s your personal revolution?
